Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Tasting
Velvety reds and sweet sparklings.  Two things come to mind when we think of Valentine’s Day — 1) velvety reds like Valpolicella Ripasso,  Taurasi from Campania, Rhone Valley Gigondas and maybe a little California Zinfandel; 2) Sweet sparklings like Brachetto d’Aqui, Vernaccia Nera di Serrapetrona and Moscato d’Asti.  We will serve both, with rich and luscious triple creme cheeses like St. Andre, St. Angel, Robiola and Delice de Bourgogne with baguettes.  And French desserts could be on the table as well if we are good! A truly romantic way to start the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Pinot Noir
Let’s explore the similarities and differences in this tasting of three hallmark wines that all have notes of red cherries and violet at times, firm and silky tannins and vibrant, fresh mouth feels- made with Tempranillo, the major Spanish red grape found in Rioja and others; Sangiovese, found all over central Italy and in Chianti, and Pinot Noir found in red Burgundies and New World renditions.  We will wrap them up and see if you can figure out for yourself which is which.  Served with cheese and baguettes.  $15 at the door, no reservations needed.  Occupancy limited to 50

Barbera & Dolcetto
We celebrate the Piedmont of Italy once more with this fabulous duo of wines.  Barbera is the consummate “popular guy” with rich, amiable fruit, good acidity and firm tannins.  Dolcetto is its mischievous sister, a bit smoky, a bit spicy, always tart, with dark cherry notes.  Taste and compare and discover the everyday wines from the Piedmont that will find a place on your dinner table soon.  Served with Piedmont cheeses and baguettes
